Georgia head football coach Kirby Smart's hilariously calls out bromance between Pat McAfee, ex-Bulldogs defensive coordinator

Kirby Smart had a hearty good laugh on the Pat McAfee show on November 15 when he called out McAfee's "man crush" on Oregon head football coach Dan Lanning. It all started back before the 2023 SEC Championship vs. Alabama when McAfee charged up the Bulldogs fans with his (in)famous hype song; before making a joke of them and picking Alabama over them instead.

The ESPN analyst was just making sure the Bulldogs fans don't hold it against him still.

"I don't think they will. They all think that you got a man crush on Dan Lanning anyways so," Smart said when asked if the Bulldogs fans would hold it against him still, making everyone on the show burst out laughing.

"Woah, woah, woah. I kind of do. But I also think you're awesome as well," McAfee responded, to which Smart also added, "I love Dan too," showing their mutual admiration for the Oregon head coach and everything he has achieved this season.

Smart's admiration for Lanning probably stems from the bond they formed when they worked together -- this during the 2015 season they spent together at Alabama under Nick Saban, and then in Georgia from 2018-2021.

Georgia head football coach Kirby Smart's Bulldogs face a crucial matchup against Tennessee

Georgia was ranked No. 12 in the Week 12 College Football Playoff Rankings, which means they lost their coveted position as a postseason lock after their loss to Ole Miss last week.

Their clash against Tennessee is crucial for Georgia in getting back that coveted spot if they want to be one of the top 12 teams in the field.

A win against the Vols would also mean a shot at the SEC Championship game.
