The Las Vegas Raiders tied with the Seattle Seahawks in their first preseason game on Thursday, but the final score and result weren't the main storyline of the game for Las Vegas.
Rookie quarterback Cam Miller put on a show in Seattle. The Raiders' sixth-round pick completed six of seven passes for 76 yards and threw a beautiful 41-yard touchdown to third-year wide receiver Shedrick Jackson.
Miller also put Las Vegas in a position to win the game at the end of regulation, but Daniel Carlson's kick was blocked, leading to a tie.
The NDSU legend caught the attention of many with his stellar play on Thursday, including starting signal-caller Geno Smith, who praised Miller after the game.
"Now I feel like he can really get better," Smith said of Miller via Paul Gutierrez of Raiders.com. "Because he's gotten game experience and he can go and watch that film."
Miller has had some hype surrounding him due to an endorsement from Tom Brady.
The Raiders minority owner supported the pick of Miller in the sixth round of April's draft, and based on the 24-year-old quarterback's first preseason action, it looks like Brady knows what he's talking about.
During his five-year career at North Dakota State, Miller won two FCS championships as the school's starting quarterback and showcased his dynamic skillset. Now in Las Vegas, the 2025 Day 3 pick is inching closer to a roster spot, as he was one of the bright spots in the Raiders' preseason opener.
