The Detroit Lions had an unfortunate ending to Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite their best efforts, they suffered a 29-24 loss, resulting in a two-game losing skid.

However, the fourth quarter of the game turned out to be the most interesting. The NFL world started questioning the referees after two offensive pass interference calls on the Lions that negated their potential game-winning touchdowns.

Ex-NFL star and Joe Burrow's former college teammate, Breiden Fehoko, did not mince his words when criticizing the officials of the Lions vs Steelers game. He accused the referees of match-fixing in a tweet he shared on X.

"Wow. Lions just got h**d by NFL officiating. I love the Steelers but you can't rule tthat a touchdown with an OPI and not replay the down. That's horrific officiating," Fehoko said.

In another tweet, the ex-Steelers tackle highlighted how he's been talking about this issue for a long time.

"I tried telling everyone the truth about NFL officiating. Gambling books control s**t more than y'all think."

With just over four minutes left in the fourth quarter, Lions quarterback Jared Goff scored a four-yard TD pass to minimize the deficit to 29-24. In the final seconds of the game, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown scored a touchdown. However, the official negated it after calling an offensive pass interference on rookie Isaac TeeSlaa.

Next, on a fourth-and-goal play, Jared Goff found St. Brown with a pass near the end zone. After being pressured by two Steelers defenders, the WR decided to toss the ball back to the quarterback, who rushed it to the end zone. However, this time, the officials flagged the play for an OPI, negating the potential game-winning touchdown.

In the end, the Steelers managed to hold on to the five-point lead to clinch the win.

Lions coach Dan Campbell takes responsibility for disappointing home loss to the Steelers

In the postgame press conference, Dan Campbell did not blame the referees for their loss. The Lions coach took responsibility, stating that they were not able to close out the game in their favor.

"We weren't able to close it out. And at the end of the day, that's on us," Campbell said as per ESPN. "We did that. We're the ones who put ourselves in that position to where he had to try to score on the last play. "You can't feel sorry for yourself. It doesn't mean it doesn't sting, it doesn't feel bad. But we have nobody to blame but ourselves. It's on us. And it's also on us to finish."

Following this loss, Dan Campbell and his team are now 8-7, leaving their playoff chances hanging by a thread. They are next scheduled to face the Vikings on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
