After an eventful regional weekend that saw upsets galore, the 2025 NCAA Division I softball tournament now heads to the super regional round. Among the eight super regional games slated for this weekend is a matchup between No. 5 Florida State and No. 12 Texas Tech.
The Seminoles (49-10) were the runner-up at the 2025 ACC softball tournament. Florida State went 3-1 at the Tallahassee regional last weekend, defeating Robert Morris and USF and splitting the last two games against Auburn to advance to this round.
Texas Tech (48-12) enters this round as the Big 12 softball tournament champions. The Red Raiders, led by Big 12 Pitcher of the Year Nijaree Canady, swept their regional, allowing only seven runs from their opponents in three games.
