On Tuesday, long-time Braves center fielder Andruw Jones was announced as one of the players elected to the 2026 MLB Hall of Fame in his ninth year of the 10-year eligibility.
For any player to be elected, they must receive 75 percent of the ballot votes, and in Jones's first season, he received only 7 percent, which is a testament to his patience throughout the years.
The talent, of course, was never the issue for Jones, as the center fielder stood out for his impactful offensive and defensive abilities, which he brought to his 17-year career, 12 of which were spent with the Braves, and which greatly assisted the team during the runs in the late 90's arriving to the Major League, a season after the Braves won the 1995 World Series.

With the election, Jones joins his former teammates and manager, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Fred McGriff, Chipper Jones, and Bobby Cox in Cooperstown.
In fact, while Andruw was waiting patiently for his turn to reach the Hall of Fame, Chipper Jones encouraged him over the years, as the center fielder recalled, "Chipper said a long time ago, I don't think the Hall of Fame would be complete with Andruw being in it," Jones admitted.
Well, after Tuesday, the Hall of Fame will be completed by adding another Braves legend from those legendary squads.
The center fielder ended his career with 454 HR, 1,289 RBI, and a 24.4 WAR, to go along with his ten consecutive gold glove awards, making him one of the best outfielders in MLB history. Jones also made history, becoming the youngest player to ever homer in a World Series when the team faced off against the New York Yankees in 1996.
