Former WWE star admits he intentionally put his career at risk for one major reason

A former WWE star just made a huge revelation. He admits he intentionally put his career at risk.

Nic Nemeth was one of the most charismatic stars to set foot inside a WWE ring. Nemeth's in-ring skills were so good that he could make anyone look like a million bucks. However, the former World Champion gained traction due to his insane ability to take bumps. He could make the most basic of moves look lethal. Unfortunately for Nemeth, he was on the losing end of his matches most of the time. This week on RAW, Nemeth returned to WWE and faced Solo Sikoa in the Last Time is Now Tournament. During the match, the TNA star took a nasty bump off the turnbuckle that had everybody talking.

During a recent appearance on Off the Ropes with Jonathan Coachman, Nic Nemeth addressed the painful spot from RAW and said he got the idea for the spot from Bret Hart, but tried to put his own spin on it.

"Well, when it comes to that turnbuckle and taking it forward, I almost always have some explaining to do to whoever's at my place. It's not a bruise, it's like a strip of bruise that goes over my shoulder and over my chest on both sides, but it looks like a rip and a bruise at the same time because you hit that turnbuckle, the ropes snap into you. That thing, taking it forward hurts like hell. But I watched Bret do it and it was amazing. I'm like, 'How can I put my take on it and have everyone talking about it?' When I got back to Gorilla, besides everyone saying, "Hear that pop? That was cool.' they were like, 'You all right on that damn turnbuckle?'"

Nemeth further added that someone from Talent Relations once told him to stop bumping so hard to finishers; otherwise, he might be on the receiving end of them often. While the former World Champion tried to take this advice, he quickly realized it wasn't in him.

"A long time ago, someone in Talent Relations and behind-the-scenes, very high up was like, 'You have to stop bumping so great on finishes not throughout the match because... that's what you'll be doing for the rest of your life is taking those finishes.' That's a really good call and I tried it once and I hesitated and half-fell and I was so embarrassed. It looked like it fell on ice. And I said, "Okay, I have to go all out, so I'm gonna give something or have a moment. I'm gonna make it count if someone's gonna give me something, it's gonna be in their highlight reel when they're sending around for who took the finish or who did this or if I hit mine all those pieces I have to. Luckily for me, that makes good TV and everyone talks about you afterwards."

Dolph Ziggler revealed the original plan for his WWE RAW return

Nic Nemeth's return on WWE RAW was kept a secret. Even though the match was announced, Ziggler's name was not mentioned until his music hit. As a result, the fans popped so loud when they heard his theme song play. However, this wasn't WWE's original plan.

Speaking on the same podcast episode, Nic Nemeth revealed that WWE originally planned to reveal his return ahead of time by showing the tournament brackets. However, this would've been such a bad idea.

“A few weeks ago when I was told, it’s like, ‘Hey, we’re gonna have you in this thing, and we’re gonna announce it ahead of time. They’re going to show brackets or something, and I go, ‘Oh my God, that’s such a bad idea.’ I go, ‘Is there any way we’re not doing this?’ They go, ‘There might be something they’re gonna put out today. It’ll be on social media. Maybe retweet or something.’ I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I hope this doesn’t happen,' and nothing happened,” he said. [H/T: Fightful]

It's a good thing that the sports entertainment juggernaut kept Nemeth's return a secret.
