Former WWE champion sets sights upon newly introduced AEW title

A former WWE Superstar vowed to capture the new AEW title, which was introduced on the latest episode of Dynamite. He also set his sights on the title during Dynamite.

The former WWE Intercontinetal Champion, Ricochet wants the newly introduced title. This past Wednesday on Dynamite, Tony Khan unveiled a brand new AEW National Championship. It was also announced that the new title could be defended across different promotions like ROH, NJPW, CMLL, and more.

The new champion will be crowned through a casino gauntlet match at the upcoming Full Gear 2025 pay-per-view. The Hurt Syndicate and Ricochet, along with The Demand argued over potentially winning the title on Dynamite. A fan on the X social media platform said that "We're getting" another title at Full Gear in a Casino Gauntlet.

Ricochet took notice of the fan's post and corrected him by stating that he is getting another title at Full Gear:

"*Ricochet is getting" The Future of Flight wrote.

Former WWE Champion loves what Ricochet is doing in AEW

The former WWE World Champion, JBL recently admitted that he is loving what Ricochet is doing during his time in AEW. Speaking on the Something to Wrestle podcast, JBL also said that he enjoys Rico's social media activity, and he gets himself over:

"I love what Ricochet's doing. He seems like a great guy, and every time I talk to him, I really like him, personally. What he's done with social media, I think, he's been fantastic. He's always creating something controversial. He always sticks up for his product. But he always finds a way to put himself over, and he does a great job of doing that. I love what he's doing. I think it's perfect for both AEW and for himself," JBL said.

Meanwhile, Ricochet is set to compete in the Casino Gauntlet for the AEW National title at Full Gear 2025. It remains to be seen if he manages to capture the new title.
