Tony Khan just announced two major AEW signings. A former WWE champion has reacted to this announcement.

Athena is the latest to comment on Tony Khan's recent signings. Hyan and Maya World made their AEW tag team debut last month against TayJay in a losing effort. Since then, they have competed a few more times and have lost. Despite this, they got the chance to compete at the AEW Worlds End 2025 Zero Hour show against the Sisters of Sin. Although they lost the bout, Tony has announced that he signed them to his promotion.

Following this announcement, Athena took to social media to praise Hyan and Maya World.

"This !!! Makes me swell with pride. @MayaWorldd @_thehyan both have kicked down every door and refused to settle for anything less congratulations hussies! I can't wait to beat the crap out of both of you again! With love and anger Athena #ForeverROHChamp"

Tony Khan gave his reason for signing Hyan and Maya World to AEW

Although Hyan and Maya World have been struggling to get a win in recent weeks, they impressed Tony Khan enough for the AEW boss to sign them to his promotion. Tony has also explained the reason behind his decision.

Speaking on the AEW Worlds End 2025 post-show media scrum, Tony said that Hyan and Maya World have been doing a fantastic job and would make great additions to the roster.

“I think they’ve been doing a fantastic job. Hyan and Maya World came in and delivered time after time. They’ve been more competitive and have put on great matches. Everyone in the locker room respects them. They bring something great to the roster..Having stronger names for singles and tag teams helps, since they’re both good individual wrestlers as well. I thought Hyan and Maya World would make a great addition to the roster," said Khan [H/T: Ringsidenews]

It will be interesting to see if Hyan and Maya World will have a successful run in AEW.
