Former Titans coach issues Cam Ward warning ahead of NFL Draft

4 hours ago 1

The NFL Draft begins on Thursday night in Green Bay. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, all signs point to the Tennessee Titans selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the first overall pick.

Ward has been the rumored pick for some time, so the draft really will begin at No. 2 with the Cleveland Browns, a team that has been fielding trade calls left and right.

Ahead of the draft, former Titans and Rams head coach Jeff Fisher spoke with TMZ Sports about the Titans' mindset going into the NFL Draft, and Fisher has been in this spot before.

"You have to be careful about convincing yourself that you really, really like this player at that pick," Fisher said. "You've got to be careful about getting too much information and falling in love with somebody that's not the answer to your problems."

When asked if Fisher had any advice, he kept it plain and simple.

"My advice is if you like a QB at No. 1, take him. Just take him. Make sure that's the franchise pick and have a plan to develop him."

Ward's skillset is obvious. He began his career at Incarnate Word, then transferred to Washington State before finishing his career at Miami, so there is a lot to like about him.

Only time will tell if Ward is the next franchise QB for the Titans.
