Ravens trade pitch gets $84 million cornerback in blockbuster deal

The Baltimore Ravens could make a splash during the NFL Draft, or sometime soon after.

It doesn't have to do with who they might pick. Instead, it's with a trade they have been urged to target.

Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox wants the Ravens to swing a deal for star Green Bay cornerback Jaire Alexander.

Knox's full proposal:

  • Ravens get Jaire Alexander
  • Packers get 2025 picks Nos. 129 and 136 in the fourth round

It'd be a reasonable swap for both sides.

"The Green Bay Packers may not be actively shopping cornerback Jaire Alexander, but they may be open to moving him for the right price. The team has listened to trade offers for the two-time Pro Bowler, though no deal is 'imminent,'" writes Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Here's Knox's thinking on the matter:

"The Baltimore Ravens should try snagging Alexander over draft weekend," B/R's Knox writes. "While Baltimore's defense showed growth late in the 2024 season—under first-year coordinator Zach Orr—they still finished the year ranked 31st in passing yards allowed... Taking a flier on Alexander with a pair of mid-round picks—Baltimore has 11 picks in total—would be worth the gamble for the Ravens. Injuries have limited the 28-year-old to just 14 games over the past two years, but he's a quality starter when healthy."

Alexander was one of the most well-regarded corners in football when he signed his four-year, $84 million deal with Green Bay.

He hasn't been able to stay on the field as much as the Packers would've liked since.

Green Bay may like the idea of re-setting from a salary perspective and getting a few young players in the fold instead.

But Baltimore is in a position to take a chance. The Ravens want a Super Bowl, and if Alexander can return to his peak, he can help get them there.

For just a couple mid-round picks, it's a risk worth taking.
