After de-committing from Oklahoma last week, one of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2026 has decided on a new home.
Jaden O’Neal, an incoming senior at Mustang (Oklahoma) High School, announced on his social media page Sunday night that he has now committed to play at Florida State.

— Jaden O’Neal (@Jadenoneal_26) June 20, 2025The Sooners were able to quickly rebound the following day, landing a commitment from Celina (Texas) Class of ’26 signal-caller Bowe Bentley, who chose Oklahoma over LSU.
Last week, O’Neal visited Florida State prior to officially de-committing from Oklahoma, and apparently he was won over by the Seminoles to make his decision several days later, especially coach Mike Norvell and new offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn.
“Just the consistency the coaching staff has shown me since eighth-grade year. … Seeing (Malzahn’s) ability to develop, being able to talk to him and talk some ball and being able to relate to him on that basis,” O’Neal told Florida State site Warchant.com. “That’s kind of just some of the factors that played into me choosing FSU.”
O’Neal, who is considered the No. 1 player in Oklahoma by 247Sports, transferred to Mustang this offseason after having previously played at Narbonne High School in California. In eight games for Narbonne last season, O’Neal threw for 1,798 yards and 16 TDs and added four rushing TDs.
Now, in the span of several months, O’Neal has switched high schools and moved to a different state, along with de-committing from one college while committing to another.
