Former NFL quarterback Nathan Peterman has a new role with Range Sports.

Peterman is joining as a player agent after the agency represented him during his eight-year pro career, in which he played for the Bills, Raiders, and Bears.

“I got to live through what I’m now getting tested on in the CBA,” he said of his new career path. “Being up and down on a roster, being put on IR, negotiating contracts. I hope I can help a younger person that’s on a similar journey.”

Peterman will be based in Jacksonville, his hometown, and report to NFLPA veteran Kyle Strongin.

Peterman is expected to become a certified NFL agent within the next few months.

In the meantime, he will be focused on talent identification for recruiting and NIL representation before transitioning to NFL representation upon his certification.

Peterman’s several years of experience in both college and professional football will help him guide young players and prospects through roster moves, contract negotiations, and locker-room relationships.

Peterman was selected by Buffalo in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft after spending his college career at Tennessee and Pittsburgh.

At the time Jon Gruden said he would be the most NFL-ready quarterback of that draft class, which included Mitchell Trubisky, Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.

He made five starts and appeared in fifteen games in the NFL, bouncing from team to team before his official retirement to pursue player representation.

Peterman, 32, had a tryout at a rookie minicamp with the Broncos in May, but the team decided not to sign him.

He’s perhaps best remembered for infamously throwing five interceptions in the first half of his first career start as a rookie before being benched.
