Speculations about Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's future has started to grow louder as the Dolphins have decided to bench him for rookie Quinn Ewers for the final three games of the season.

Tagovailoa's performance this season has been under scrutiny over the last few weeks and the Dolphins have finally decided to give Ewers a chance to showcase his talent.

The Dolphins signed the Pro Bowl quarterback to a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension in July 2024 and will owe him $99 million in dead money if the franchise decides to cut him before June. Former NFL MVP Matt Ryan weighed in on the situation in a conversation with Kay Adams.

"I do," Ryan said on Tua being a starter next season. "I think there is a real possibility, whether it is Miami or somewhere else. I think there are a handful of teams that like would like improved quarterback play.

"I think Tua probably has some good football still in front of him. Why it didn't work out this season or the last two seasons? I'm not quite sure. But I do think he is starting next season, whether it is in Miami or with some other organization."

Tagovailoa's blockbuster contract extension came on the back of solid 2022 and 2023 seasons with the Dolphins. However, the Pro Bowl quarterback has not been able to live up to the contract since.
