Former Lakers non-fan favorite could be moved again, join fourth team in three years

Former Los Angeles Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell has found himself in a somewhat interesting spot recently. Russell, who has been on multiple teams since leaving the Lakers, including the Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks, and now the Memphis Grizzlies, might be on his fourth team in just two seasons. 

According to the latest report, as the Grizzlies continue to cut down the roster and save money, Jake Fischer believes Russell could be gone in Memphis.

“I don’t think D’Angelo Russell is long for the Grizzlies’ world,” Fischer said, H/T Heavy.

The Grizzlies ultimately have to decide whether they want to keep a veteran like Russell around or give his chances to another young player. As the Grizzlies continue making these decisions, keeping Russell in town might not be the worst idea because of his value as a veteran. 

However, if Memphis can be a decent team in the near future because of its young talent, giving away touches to a 30-year-old player who hasn't done much over the past couple of seasons doesn't make much sense. 

Lakers fans found that out the hard way, and hate to see it happen.
