Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has neem named as the new manager of Norwich City on an interim basis.
This news comes after the Championship club decided to sack their former first-team manager, Johannes Hoff Thorup, on Monday. His assistant, Glen Riddersholm, was also relieved of his services.
Therefore, Wilshere was promoted to the role of the interim manager of the first team alongside Tony Roberts and Nick Stanley.
The former Arsenal academy graduate, who called time to his football career in 2022, returned to the North London club as their U-18 team manager. After a couple of years, he left Arsenal for Norwich City as one of their assistant managers to Hoff Thorup.

The Canaries are languishing in the 14th position in the Championship standings and they suffered a 3-1 defeat against Millwall on Monday (April 21). This result led to Hoff Thorup's dismissal at the Norfolk club.
"While we made this appointment with a long-term focus and in line with our wider club strategy and direction, unfortunately recent results and performances have deemed it necessary for us to make a change," Norwich City sporting director Ben Knapper said after the sacking of Hoff Thorup.
Wilshere will be standing on the sidelines for the Canaries for the last two games of the season as Norwich face Middlesbrough and Cardiff City.
Wilshere will be up against his former Arsenal teammate
This is an opportunity for the former England international to prove his worth to the Norwich City management. If the 33-year-old flourishes in a new role, the Canaries may trust him with the first team next season as they aim to get back to the Premier League.

However, two games is a very short span to assess someone, and it looks like Norwich will look for Hoff Thorup's replacement once the current season comes to an end.
Wilshere will lead the pack in the next two games, and interestingly, in the final game of the season, his Norwich team will host former teammate Aaron Ramsey's Cardiff City.
A defeat for Cardiff City and Ramsey would mean relegation. Cardiff, with only 43 points from 44 matches, are in 23rd spot in the Championship standings.
Therefore, the final matchday clash of this season between Wilshere's Norwich City and Ramsey's Cardiff City will be crucial in the relegation battle for the 2024/25 Championship campaign.
Wilshere joined Arsenal's academy as a nine-year-old, and rose through the ranks in North London, eventually making his senior team debut in 2008, becoming the youngest debutant for Arsenal at the age of 16 years and 256 days.
He left Arsenal in 2018 after featuring in 197 matches for the Gunners, contributing 14 goals and 28 assists. He never quite fulfilled his potential at the club due to his incessant injury issues.
Wilshere also played for clubs like Bolton Wanderers, Bournemouth, West Ham United and Danish Superliga outfit Aarhus Gymnastikforening. He hung up his boots in July 2022 and decided to take up coaching.
