Former All-Star Stephon Marbury claims 'Knicks in five' after Game 3 blowout loss

The New York Knicks made NBA history in the first two games of their Eastern Conference Semifinals' matchup with the Boston Celtics. They became the first team to come back from trailing by 20 to win back-to-back postseason games.

While they once again found themselves in a steep hole on their home floor in Game 3, they were unable to erase the deficit and suffered a 115-93 loss. Stephon Marbury, who was on hand at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, predicted that the Knicks won't lose another game this series.

"Being that I'm a sore loser, I'm going to keep it real short," two-time All-Star Stephon Marbury claimed Saturday. "We got exactly what we were supposed to get -- an A whooping. All of us, fans included. We took a nice one. And the Boston fans, they're not saying anything right now. They're like, 'see, we're the champs.' But that's okay. Because we weren't going into this thinking Knicks in four. It just sounds good when you say it. Knicks in five!"

Marbury originally hails from Brooklyn, New York. He spent parts of five seasons playing for his hometown Knicks. Following his stint in New York, the two-time All-Star spent 23 games playing for the Celtics during the 2008-09 season.

While he was offered the opportunity to return to Boston the following season, Marbury wound up joining the Chinese Basketball Association -- where he became one of the most decorated and popular players in league history. Despite his ties to both franchises, the fourth overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft -- who has been a constant presence at Madison Square Garden -- believes the Knicks will be able to get the job done.
