At Saturday Night's Main Event XLI, John Cena announced that starting from next week's RAW, a 16-man Last Time is Now Tournament will begin to determine his final opponent. The winner will go on to face The GOAT at SNME XLII on December 13.

The first two matches have been announced, which will see Shinsuke Nakamura locking horns with Sheamus, and Rusev colliding with Damian Priest. That said, the tournament may start on a rough note, as The Archer of Infamy could be attacked by Aleister Black.

The former AEW star and Priest have been at odds for months now. Their fierce rivalry has resulted in three matches thus far, but the former Judgment Day member has yet to score a decisive win over Black. Their most recent encounter was a Last Man Standing Match on the October 10 episode of SmackDown, where Zelina Vega helped Aleister put away the 43-year-old.

The Dutch star answered Ilja Dragunov's US Title Open Challenge two weeks ago but was unsuccessful in winning the title, as Damian Priest distracted the former Malakai Black, costing him the bout.

Therefore, Aleister could exact revenge on The Archer of Infamy next week by ruining his chances of facing John Cena on December 13. The former AEW star could distract Priest during the match, allowing Rusev to secure the victory.

That said, this scenario is only speculative at this point. Fans will have to tune in next week to find out who advances in John Cena's Last Time is Now Tournament.

John Cena to face CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship?

CM Punk kicked off the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, celebrating his World Heavyweight Title victory at Saturday Night's Main Event XLI. The Second City Saint cut a fiery promo, putting the entire roster on notice.

The Best in the World namedropped several potential challengers he would like to face, including John Cena. Punk invited his longtime rival to try and become an 18-time World Champion against him.

Following the show, Fightful Select reported that there have been internal discussions about crowning Cena as champion again before his retirement. The Cenation Leader became a record-setting 17-time World Champion by beating Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.

Facing CM Punk once again in a title match would be a good use of one of Cena's remaining four appearances. If The Franchise Player becomes the world champion, he could defend the title in his final in-ring outing. That said, this is also speculation, and nothing has been confirmed.
