Fisch is a tycoon simulator on Roblox that allows you to cast a line into the sea and catch different fish species. You can then sell your captures to merchants and generate money to buy different items and fishing rods.

On December 13, 2025, the game introduced its Fischmas update, which added several new features into the game. The Maelstrom Rod is currently one of the best rods that you can obtain during this event, and this guide will teach you everything about it.

The Maelstrom Rod is a limited-time equipment released via the Fischmas update on December 13, 2025. It can grant you several passive abilities, a luck boost, and stat buffs. To purchase this rod, you must collect 3,250,000 C$ and solve a questline by catching a Cryoshock Serpent inside the Cryoshock Cellar region of the Northstar Village.

How to get the Maelstrom Rod in Fisch

Follow these steps to purchase the Maelstrom Rod faster:

Step 1: Complete all of Santa's Quests

During the update, you can find and solve a total of five quests offered by the Santa NPC. On solving the last quest, you'll get the Everfrost Key that unlocks your way towards the region where you can get this rod.

Here are all these quests:

• Snack Break Quest: Catch 5 Gingerbread Men and 2 Glasses of Eggnog.
• Missing Presents Quest: Catch 3 Santa’s Presents.
• Warming Up Quest: Catch 6 Hot Cocoa.
• Present Delivery Quest: Deliver 10 presents to snowmen at the Glacial Ridge.
• Strange Whale Quest: Catch the Northstar Whale.

Step 2: Collect all the essential items

To continue the quest further, you must collect four more items.

• Essence of Winter: Can be caught by fishing at the Northstar Village.
• Essence of Starfrost: Can be caught by fishing at the Northstar Village only during the Frost Moon weather event.
• Frost Moon Totem (Optional): You can purchase the Frost Moon Totem using Bells from the Glacial Ridge to summon the weather.

Step 3: Make the purchase

Once you’ve collected all the required items, you can follow these steps to proceed:

• You can enter the Cryoshock Cellar only during a Frost Moon weather event. You can either wait for it to happen in the lobby, or you can summon it using a Frost Moon Totem.
• Next you have to pull three levers placed at different locations of the Northstar Village. The first can be found on the boundary wall of the village. The second can be found at the cliff near the Gingerbread house. The last one can be found behind a green hut, nearby the first lever.
• This will open a hatch at the center of the map where you can enter to reach the Cryoshock Cellar. Here, you must put both the Essence stones inside the mouth of the Cryoshock Serpent statue and then use the Everfrost Key to unlock the door.
• Then use a rod with either the Peppermint or Merry Gingerbread enchantment to catch the Cryoshock Serpent before it catches you. Remember that each player can catch this fish only once.
• Once you’ve caught the Cryoshock Serpent, you can continue to solve the obby and reach the Maelstrom Rod for buying.
