“Fireable offense for Brett Veach”: NFL fans mock Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs for being cheap after lowball offer for Jets RB Breece Hall

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs were looking to improve their offensive backfield. On Tuesday, a few hours after the end of the trade deadline, NFL insider Dov Kleiman reported that Andy Reid's team offered a fourth-round pick to the New York Jets for running back Breece Hall

Unfortunately, Aaron Glenn and his team wanted a third-rounder to close the trade for Hall.

"REPORT: The Chiefs offered a 4th round pick to the Jets for RB Breece Hall, but the Jets wante a 3rd, per @SNYtv Breece has made it public that he wanted out," Kleiman tweeted.

Fans on social media trolled Kansas City for trying to lowball the Jets for Breece Hall.

"This is a fireable offense for Veach," one fan commented. "How cheap are the Chiefs that they can't offer a 3rd? It's basically a 4th. They haven't had an rb like Hall in decades," another fan said. "The @Chiefs would be stupid to pass that up. Give 'em a 3rd rounder," this fan wrote. "A 4th is laughable for a guy with Breece skill lvl at his age with the amount the Jets will be on the hook for to tag/extend... Foh Chiefs... Should've sent the 3rd Hall is so much better than anyone in their RB room," another fan commented. "No surprise the Chiefs are trying to low ball the Jets," one fan said. "Totally idiotic if they lost out on breece for 1 round," this fan commented.

Breece Hall has been with the team since being drafted 36th overall during the 2022 NFL draft. This season, he has tallied 581 yards and two touchdowns rushing for his team.

The Jets made some big moves before the trade deadline. They gave away two-time Pro Bowler Sauce Gardner to the Colts for two first-round picks and WR Adonai Mitchell.

On the other hand, defensive tackle Quinnen Williams was traded to the Cowboys for a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 first-round pick, along with defensive lineman Mazi Smith.

No, Kansas City had a quiet time before the trade deadline. It appears that Andy Reid and GM Brett Veach are confident in the roster they currently have to compete for another Super Bowl.

The defending AFC Champions currently have a bye week after losing 28-21 to the Bills on Sunday. They have a 5-4 record and are currently placed third in the AFC West behind the Broncos and the Chargers.
