DK Metcalf made headlines last week when he confronted a fan during a Pittsburgh Steelers-Detroit Lions game last Sunday. Now, at least one person has revealed some thoughts on the matter.

On Saturday, someone purporting to be Hunter Kennedy, nephew of Ryan Kennedy, took to social media to reveal that his uncle had been trolling the star wide receiver for months:

"Finally broke him (laughing emoji). He's been talking about this day for months."

In an unusual move, Kennedy held a press conference on Friday discussing the incident. There, he denied speculation that he had initiated the incident by using racist language:

"Dekaylin, if you're watching this, if you could just say that, please, like, my family's getting threats and stuff, and it's not cool. So whether you said that or not, I'm sure you didn't want that to happen to the family, even if you did, like, I forgive you, man. That's all I got go on."

The incident garnered Metcalf a suspension from the last two games of the regular season. His appeal was denied.

Meanwhile, Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers shared his thoughts on the matter during practice on Wednesday:

"I think there should be some sort of code of conduct. Obviously, that was intentional, and I think there was some celebration afterward on his part. Obviously, I don't condone what DK did. I understand there have been a lot of comments said my way over the years. The truth is that it would never happen face to face. ... There are two sides to every story. I support DK."

Sans suspended DK Metcalf, Steelers looking to lean on other WRs in final two games

Even as DK Metcalf rides the bench for his antics, the Steelers still have a monumental task at hand: clinch their first AFC North title since 2020. And they have a few intriguing pieces in their wideout room that they may lean on, as Aaron Rodgers put it:

"Obviously we get more opportunities for Marquez (Valdes-Scantling) and Adam (Thielen), and hopefully Roman (Wilson) as well."

Speaking of Adam Thielen, he said:

"You've got to focus on being ready. You know, whether that be physically, mentally, and just be at your best on game day, you don't really know what that looks like. So you just have to be prepared for everything."

The team will visit the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, with kickoff at 1 pm ET on CBS.
