Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Rebirth both came to Switch 2 earlier this year and they are currently just $8 each. That is a ridiculously low price for two very good ports of two excellent RPGs.

Rebirth is normally $50 and Remake is normally $40, but until November 17, Square Enix has made the digital versions of the Switch 2 ports available for $7.50 and $8, respectively. Why is Remake priced $0.50 higher than the newer, bigger game? I have no idea. The physical versions are both game key cards as well, so you’re not missing out on anything there.

If you own a Switch 2 and haven’t yet picked these up, I’d definitely recommend it, especially ahead of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which will close out the trilogy when it arrives in April 2027. Both games perform decently enough on Nintendo’s newer hardware, too.

Square Enix put in a lot of work to get the gorgeous games running at a solid 30fps framerate without completely downgrading the resolution to hell, though Cloud’s spiky hair still looks way better on the other consoles.

If you already own the series on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC, it’s not worth picking up extra versions for the portability factor. There’s no nifty cross-save function like with Cyberpunk 2077. But for people who only have Switch 2s, these are easy pick-ups and will probably never be cheaper.
