There were some interesting names floated as potential buyers of the Seattle Seahawks, with some even raising eyebrows. There were reports that some of the top owners of the world's biggest companies, including Meta, could be potential buyers of the Seahawks.
One interesting name that has started to surface is ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
Ballmer, one of the richest people in the world, has shown with the Los Angeles Clippers that, at the very least, he has all the money needed to help his team try to win.
“Curtis, because it’s Seattle, a lot of the same big names are cycled through. From the sounds of it, Clippers owner and ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer might be more likely than Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos, but I’m not sure either is a probable bidder. I’ve heard a few other names as potential buyers, one who’s a limited partner in an NBA team. Steve Apostolopoulos, a Canadian billionaire, is one to consider—he did bid on the Commanders in 2023. And I’m not sure he’s the only big-money bidder from north of the border,” Albert Breer wrote.
Breer spoke about Ballmer potentially not being a bidder, but it's interesting to hear his name all of a sudden. The Seahawks will have new ownership sometime in the near future, and honestly, there could be a lot worse options than the billionaire.
