Auger-Aliassime had a fairly successful 2025 season in terms of career milestones, winning three titles in Adelaide, Montpellier, and Brussels. He also came close to adding two more trophies to his name in Dubai and Paris, but fell short in the finals, with his most recent loss coming against Jannik Sinner in the French capital despite a valiant effort.
The Canadian was scheduled to compete at the Moselle Open in Metz, which could have secured his spot at the ATP Finals, but he withdrew at the last minute due to a knee injury. His qualification chances now rest entirely on Lorenzo Musetti, who is next in line to claim the final spot.
Felix Auger-Aliassime recently opened up about his injury, explaining that he decided to withdraw to prioritize his health. He said he wouldn’t mind missing out on Turin if it comes to that, as his main focus right now is on recovery.
"My health comes first. I don't talk about it much, but I've had a lot of physical issues this week and I don't want to repeat the mistakes of the past," he said. "My health comes first, even before qualification. If I qualify, great. If not, Lorenzo will deserve his spot. That's my decision," he added.Musetti has a major part to play in Auger-Aliassime’s qualification hopes. The Italian is competing at the Hellenic Championship in Athens and will surpass the World No. 8 in rankings if he wins the tournament. He’s set to start his campaign against Stan Wawrinka on Wednesday, November 5.

That year, he enjoyed a stellar season, especially during the indoor stretch, where he went on a remarkable 16-match winning streak and finished the year ranked World No. 6.
Auger-Aliassime was placed in the Green Group and began his campaign with a tough loss to Casper Ruud, which immediately put him under pressure to win his remaining matches. He bounced back with a victory over Rafael Nadal, but his run came to an end after a decisive loss to Taylor Fritz in a do-or-die match that knocked him out of the tournament.
