A fast moving brush fire has led to evacuation warnings in the neighborhoods that border the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton outside of San Diego.

Cal Fire said that the fire has already charred some 800 acres of brush close to the November Training Area near Wire Mountain Housing at the Southern California military base.

The fire is active and there are threats to “critical infrastructure” that has caused evacuations, Cal Fire reported.

Rep. Mike Levin said his office is keeping a close eye on the so-called November Fire as evacuation warnings spread into neighboring Oceanside.

“My office is closely monitoring the November Fire on Camp Pendleton. We are in contact with local officials and will continue to provide updates as the situation develops,” Levin wrote on X.

Evacuation warnings have been issued for parts of Oceanside, with officials urging residents to be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice.

Anyone forced to evacuate is being directed to El Camino High School, which has been designated as an evacuation center.
