Fantasy owners may want to get familiar with Grant Taylor before it's too late

While the Chicago White Sox are far from postseason contenders, there are some exciting pieces scattered across this club. Munetaka Murakami should be a sight for sore eyes in Chicago, taking over first base.

Colson Montgomery will look to parlay his scorcher of a rookie season into an even better one in 2026. And a few other young names will look to keep the pressure up.

Many might not be too familiar with Grant Taylor, but they should be. He is an exciting high-leverage arm looking to take the next step in 2026.

Fantasy owners may want to get familiar with Grant Taylor before it's too late

Taylor was a second-round pick for the White Sox in the 2023 MLB Draft. And after beginning the season in Triple-A last year, he was called up in June.

Taylor was used in high-leverage roles, typically going one inning. However, that will change this season as he is expected to pitch extended innings in relief for the White Sox this year.

He will be stretched out, and the plan is for him to fight for a starting role next season. So, he will be looking to lock it down for much of the season and give himself a good chance to be a starter in 2027.

He should be a perfect late-round target in fantasy, and one of the most undervalued at the position, per Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter

"Taylor might start the season in a setup or multi-inning role, but he has the best stuff on the entire White Sox staff and could make a play for the closer's job in short order. The 23-year-old struck out 54 of 157 batters he faced last season, and a 1.42 FIP is a much better indicator of his potential than his 4.91 ERA."

Taylor has the best pure stuff of any pitcher on the White Sox staff. He has a bright future ahead of him and could capitalize on extended looks this season. He should be on every fantasy owner's radar.
