Minecraft has recently released experimental builds for the upcoming drop, introducing features such as the nautilus, camel husks, and the spear weapon. While players are enjoying this feature, some fans have found a potential theory that could trace the origin of the spear in the game. A clip from the Minecraft movie has left fans speculating about its influence on real-time updates in the game.
Here's everything you need to know about the spear's potential origin, stemming from a clip of A Minecraft Movie.
A Minecraft Movie clip hints at potential origin of the spear in the game
The latest series of snapshots and previews has introduced features from the upcoming Mounts of Mayhem drop, allowing gamers to play with mobs like the nautilus and zombie horse, as well as new weapons like the spear. Now, a Reddit user posted a clip from the A Minecraft Movie that seems to hint at the spear's potential origin and inspiration.
The clip shows the scene where Henry and Garrett are riding a Ghast while flying towards the massive portal. Garrett is seen instructing Henry to pick up a spear and jab the ghast. Once he does, the mob is seen getting angry and spitting fireballs in the distance.
The OP accompanies the clip with a caption where he states that the spear looks very similar to the weapon that was introduced in-game. Additionally, Garrett's instruction to jab using the spear is exactly similar to the jab attack that is currently available in the spear. The original post has received over 1,500 upvotes, with many fellow users agreeing with the post.
It must be mentioned that the arrival of the happy ghast was very close to the mob's appearance in the film, sparking further speculation that major elements from the A Minecraft Movie could have inspired real-life development of new features.
Many users further wondered if this attack of triggering fireballs by jabbing the ghast with a spear could become a reality. While the developers have not officially confirmed anything regarding the spear's usage for that purpose or the ability to tame wild ghasts, the eerie similarity to in-game features leaves a pretty wide room for conjecture and speculation.
Mojang is known to listen to player feedback and actively add or modify features. So, it could come as no surprise if this feature gets a potential spot in the list of future implementations in the block-shaped world. Gamers will have to keep yearning for the mines and wait to see if they can recreate this iconic scene from the film during their adventures.
