A 27-year-old star's future in AEW might be in question. One of AEW's promising stars, Anna Jay, has been on the roster since April 2020. She has been an incredible talent in promotion and has been a part of the mid-card for many years, yet to find her way to the top of the main event scene.
Anna's recent work with Tay Melo was well-received by many fans. She recently reunited with Melo after the latter returned to the company after a lengthy hiatus. The two even entered the AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship tournament but lost to Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir in the first round.
According to Fightful, Anna Jay's contract with Tony Khan's promotion is set to expire soon. It has also been reported that the company will try to retain her. However, she might also try other options after entering free agency.
AEW star Tay Melo sends a message to Anna Jay
TayJay has been one of the first few women's tag teams to find success in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Many fans were left shocked to see them lose in the tournament.
Following the heartbreaking loss, Tay Melo took to X to discuss the hardships the duo had faced to reach their current position. She also sent love to Anna Jay.
"Tonight was hard. When the world shut down during Covid, Anna and I used to talk about one day competing for these tag belts. Five years later, that dream finally became real… and losing in the first round hurts in a way that’s hard to explain. We believed in this moment so much (...) It is what it is. But I’m grateful for everyone who’s been on this journey with us and for all the love you’ve shown. Thank you for caring as much as we did. I love you @annajay___," she wrote.It remains to be seen what will be next for the beloved 27-year-old star.
