Fallout 76 free for a week after Season 2 premiere

To celebrate Season 2 of Fallout on Amazon, Fallout 76 is giving away free access for a week, starting December 16, 2025! It’s a great time to hop in the game too, as the largest update the online title has seen in years recently went live! Burning Springs adds a massive map update, taking players into Ohio to contend with the Rust King. With a great new Bounty Hunting system, and tons of updates in terms of content, there’s a lot to love.

You can play on any platform as well, and while it is a hefty download, Fallout 76 is worth diving into for free, while you enjoy the first episodes of the Amazon TV series. As someone who has invested many hours into the Appalachian region online, it’s a great time to start, or to come back. The FO76 free week is available from December 16 until December 23, 2025.

Can you meet characters from the Amazon TV Show in Fallout 76

There is at least one confirmed character from the Amazon TV show in Fallout 76 that you can meet. Walton Goggins returns to reprise his role as The Ghoul, who recorded new voice lines for his character in the Burning Springs update. He’s a fairly important part as well, considering he’s in charge of the Bounty Hunting system.

While he primarily resides in the Burning Springs area, you can also come across him outside of Vault 76, where he will introduce himself, and point out Burning Springs as a place to go if you’re looking to make caps. If you play a Ghoul (like myself), he even has new dialogue lines, which we confirmed during an early access preview of this update.

How far can you get in Fallout 76 in a week?

The question of “How far can you get in Fallout 76 in a week” really depends on you! In theory, you could reach the gear level cap (Level 50) in a single day, if you grinded hard enough. It’s very much a possibility. It isn’t at all difficult to get to at least level 50 before the week is up, if this is the game you focus on.

However, one of the great things about this FO76 free week, is that any progress you make will be saved for when/if you come back to the game. Should you decide you want to get back to the post-apocalyptic fun, you can pick up right where you left off. You can also access this free week on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, so there are plenty of places to access the game.
