Miley Cyrus Confirms She Dated Dylan Sprouse During Disney Days

You get the limo out front—because Miley Cyrus is taking you behind the scenes of Hannah Montana 20 years later.

The Grammy winner spilled all the secrets about the Disney Channel show during its 20th anniversary special, which dropped March 24 on Disney+ and Hulu. And that includes her crushes on fellow Disney stars Dylan Sprouse, Nick Jonas and Mitchel Musso—who replaced her childhood crush on classmate Jeff back in Nashville.

"I thought Mitchel Musso was really cute," Miley admitted of her costar, who played Oliver. "So I was like, 'OK, bye, Jeff.' It's all about Mitchell now. I was like, 'Great! Crush. I'm good now. I'm set up.’"

As for her dynamic with costar Emily Osment—who played Miley's BFF Lilly—the "Flowers" singer confessed that she might have grossed the actress out with her odd food choices on set.

"I did something really gnarly," she said. "My favorite thing to get at Panda Express was the white rice and pour Diet Coke on top, instead of soy sauce. It's a whole thing. Emily, no wonder she was like, 'Who is this bumpkin that they got?'"

Miley joked, "I am from the south in a way that it's really hard to describe.”

But she certainly appreciates her roots, attributing much of her identity to how she was raised by Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus.

"I don't know if our reality would be the same without the show, for better or for worse," Miley told Alex Cooper during the special. "No family really gets to experience what we had."

That's also why she's glad she was able to make amends with Billy Ray following their feud last year.

"I'm really excited for him to be here, because I know how much our relationship means to everyone that watched this show," Miley continued. "I think when me and my dad are good, people, they feel better. It just feels good when the Cyruses are getting along.”

Read on for everything Miley revealed about the show—including cameos from Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez—during Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.

How Taylor Swift Was Cast in Hannah Montana: The Movie

"For that scene, get the tea kettle," Miley joked. "So the way that Taylor Swift ended up in the Hannah Montana movie was because this was kind of the beginning of her career, and they were looking for someone that would authentically—no shade, I guess—be performing in a barn. We both performed in the barn."

Plus, as Miley noted, Taylor wrote the finale song "You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home" for the 2009 flick, with Miley praising the track as a "banger, stands the test of time. She ate with that one."

Why Selena Gomez Felt "Ugly" on Hannah Montana Set

"What do you remember about filming? Because there's so much of it that was a blur," Miley asked fellow Disney star Selena Gomez, who appeared in three episodes of Hannah Montana as Mikayla.

"I remember being in that blue, weird makeup," Selena responded in the special, referring to an alien costume she wore. "I remember feeling ugly in that. Because we’re, like, 15 and I want to feel pretty, and I'm like, 'Ugh.'"

"Oh, definitely," Miley agreed, noting that while they played rivals onscreen, "We can make amends now."

Miley Cyrus Makes Rare Comment About Dating Nick Jonas

She said her relationship with Nick Jonas—which lasted from 2006 to 2007—was the reason the Jonas Brothers opened for her concerts.

"Literally, the reason that the Jonas Brothers were on tour with me was because Nick was my boyfriend, and I wanted to not leave my boyfriend," Miley explained. "So I'd be like, 'OK, well, I'll go on tour if my boyfriend can come.' And they're like, 'Cute, have your boyfriend open for the show.' Boom."

She added, "I was always just like, 'Well, it'll be more fun if Nick is there.'"

Miley Cyrus Details Friendship With Emily Osment

Emily Osment—who played Miley Stewart's BFF Lilly—had a special dynamic with Miley onset.

"With Emily, I had what felt like a teammate, because I didn't know exactly what I was doing," she shared. "I knew that we were going to have each other's backs when it came to our timing, to our scenes, to rehearsing."

One of her standout memories was going to Panda Express together—though Miley doesn't think she made such a good impression.

"That was my favorite. I did something really gnarly," she continued. "My favorite thing to get at Panda Express was the white rice and pour Diet Coke on top, instead of soy sauce. It's a whole thing. What I was like, Emily, no wonder she was like, 'Who is this bumpkin that they got?'"

In fact, Miley joked that she takes a pic of her parking spot and texts it to friends: "I send it to everyone I know. Like, 'Don't forget. Don't forget. Don't forget who you're talking to.' Like, anyone tries to tell me anything, it's just like, 'Disney Legend Parking.'"

When asked once and for all if she wanted her character to be with Jake (Cody Linley) or Jesse (Drew Roy), Miley said, "I think I can't, because they're both, like, out there in the world," but then whispered "Jake."

"Because you know what? He's always out there saying really nice things about me in the press, and I pay attention," she quipped. "And Jesse, I haven't heard a peep!"

But in all seriousness, the Grammy winner admitted, "I love the Jake Ryan fantasy" for her character.
