When Gabriel Jesus made his move to Arsenal in 2022, it was imagined that the former-Manchester City striker would bring the Gunners’ squad to the next level, if not through his ability on the pitch, but his experience lifting trophies during his time in the Sky Blue jersey.
While he would be a part of the Arsenal team that ended the club’s 22-year-long Premier League drought, it’s safe to say that he hasn’t lived up to the production levels that were expected of his £45 million transfer fee from the Cityzens.
This could be said given that he’s only managed to record 32 goal involvements in the English top flight across his four-season stint in North London, with the Champions League being his second-most lucrative competition, with 11 goal involvements recorded.
To be frank, these numbers aren’t bad by any means, the real criticism of Jesus’ time with the Gunners has been his ability to stay healthy, having suffered from a cruciate ligament tear that kept him out for close to a year in 2025, as well as a knee injury that kept him out for 100 days in December 2022, according to Transfermarkt’s injury history page.
With all of this in mind, Arsenal have a decision to make this summer regarding the Brazilian’s future at the Emirates Stadium, as they have him on their books for another year until his contract expires.
With one potential option being selling the six-time Premier League winner, one team are keen on this being a possibility; Everton.
The Merseyside Blues are interested in the Brazilian, but for a discount
As reported by Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, the Toffees are keen on signing the Brazilian striker, but want to negotiate the price down, given his aforementioned injury concerns.
“Everton are keen to sign Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus this summer but are not prepared to meet his current £20million asking price, sources have told Football Insider,” states O’Rourke. “The Toffees are mindful of the injury problems that the 29-year-old has endured in recent years, and as a result, will only look to do business for him on a cut-price deal.”
David Moyes is currently working with the likes of Beto and Thierno Barry in front of goal, with the two combining for 18 goals last season in the English top flight, meaning he could be looking for more consistency in the forward attacking department.
But the Toffees aren’t the only team keen on acquiring Jesus, as the likes of Juventus, AC Milan, and Palmeiras are also interested, according to O’Rourke.
“...the likes of AC Milan, Juventus and Palmeiras are all lurking to try and win the race for his services this summer,” states O’Rourke.
Given that the Brazilian striker was a noticeable omission from Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a potential move away from North London could be the top thing on his mind entering the offseason.
