ESPN-YouTube TV dispute: Streaming alternatives to watch Cardinals-Cowboys on 'Monday Night Football'

7 hours ago 1

Over the weekend, YouTube TV customers weren't able to watch many college football games as the service dropped all Disney channels during a contract dispute.

The initial deal between ESPN and YouTube TV expired on Thursday night, and the two sides weren't able to find common ground on a new contract. Therefore, YouTube TV blacked out all Disney channels, which include ABC and ESPN, from their service until they could find an agreement.

However, this dispute hasn't been in effect for an NFL game until Monday night when the Arizona Cardinals play the Dallas Cowboys on "Monday Night Football." YouTube TV customers who are fans of either team will be disappointed to find out they can't watch the game.

So, here's a list of some alternatives for viewers who want to see the Cardinals and Cowboys face off.

YouTube TV alternatives

Here's a look at three specific streaming alternatives for YouTube TV customers who want to watch "Monday Night Football."

Fubo

Fubo carries all Disney channels, which include local ABC affiliates and ESPN networks, as part of its streaming plan. The service also provides a free trial for new users, which gives customers a chance to test out the service before making a decision on whether to opt in.

DirecTV

Another alternative to YouTube TV is DirecTV, which also has a complement of Disney-owned channels like ABC and ESPN. Like Fubo, DirecTV gives the option of a free trial, and it has the added benefit of carrying many sports- and entertainment-specific channels.

ESPN App

In September, ESPN debuted a direct-to-consumer product that allows viewers to pay for the network's content directly through the network. This service, which is available with the ESPN app, is a way for viewers to get the benefit of watching sports on ESPN without paying for other TV channels.
