The Kansas City Chiefs haven't been able to pair Patrick Mahomes with a star running back in recent seasons.
They've got the chance to change that this offseason with a free agent pool that includes the likes of Breece Hall and Kenneth Walker, as well as a draft class highlighted by Jeremiyah Love.
In a new article on ESPN.com, Aaron Schatz pairs one free agent with each team in the NFL. With the Chiefs, he links Walker.
Walker was just the Super Bowl MVP for the Seattle Seahawks, but because of the RB market, he may still be allowed to walk by Seattle. The Seahawks still have Zach Charbonnet, who they feel they can count on.
That could work out nicely for the Chiefs.
"The Chiefs need not just a running back, but a running back who can also serve as a receiving outlet for Patrick Mahomes," Schatz writes. "Walker had more than 1,000 rushing yards last season and added 31 catches for 282 yards -- an impressive 9.1 yards per reception average."

Walker isn't a classic receiving back. Most of his damage in the passing game came on plays designed for him.
Still, that's another possible weapon for Andy Reid to utilize in intriguing ways.
Besides, the main reason to sign Walker is simply his running ability, and he showed in the Super Bowl how impressive that is.
"His ability to generate explosive plays could be a valuable part of lifting the Chiefs' offense back to the top of the league," Schatz writes.
After a 6-11 season, the Chiefs need a boost. Walker could certainly be that boost.
