Erling Haaland goes full America as he listens to Ella Langley while crushing golf balls off boat

Erling Haaland is turning into a proud American.

While Haaland stole headlines for guiding Norway through an improbable World Cup run to the quarterfinals, he also said he loved his time in the States and embraced American culture, whether it was wearing cowboy hats or going to hockey games.

And even though he’s not in America anymore, it’s clear his time in the country rubbed off on him.

Haaland was seen shirtless and hitting golf balls off a boat and into the water in a viral X video, while also appearing near a putting green, tee and basket of golf balls.

While launching golf balls into the ocean, Haaland listened to Ella Langley’s hit “Choosin’ Texas.”

Who knows if or when Haaland will be back in America, but what’s undeniable is how much fun he had while in the country – especially off the pitch.

“I like the Americans,” Haaland told reporters before Norway’s Cup-ending loss to England last week. “I think they are kind of hilarious, as well. They are funny, so I like the way they are.”

“Every single thing with the World Cup so far here has been amazing: from games to the stadiums. Everything has been amazing – the training ground where we train, that’s been amazing. So I’m super happy, and it’s impressive.”

During his time in the United States, Haaland posted pictures with funny Snapchat filters and compared himself to Shrek, the ogre from the Dreamworks movie series.

He also posted photos wearing a shirt that read, “Y’all can kiss my Dallas.”

Fresh off a goal and win against Ivory Coast in the Round of 32, Haaland went to Wild Bill’s Western Store in downtown Dallas to buy the most Texas-gear possible: four stetson hats and a pair of snake-skinned cowboy boots.

“Hello y’all,” Haaland said while entering the shop. “Dallas is amazing. I’m coming back here. The people are so positive – they’re just enjoying life.”

So maybe there’s a reason he was listening to a song with the word “Texas” in it.

You can take Haaland away from America, but you can’t take the America out of him.
