Enes Kanter viral again after sit down with Bruce Pearl amid WNBA ‘trans’ controversy

Enes Kanter Freedom released a quick snippet of his high-profile interview with former Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl.

Freedom is seen wearing an orange sweater that reads “Let Freedom Play,” sitting across from Pearl, in a room filled with people. The clip opens with him saying, “The commissioner of the WNBA [Cathy Engelbert] messaged every GM, and they’re still trying to figure out what a woman is.“

“They’re actually having a meeting this week,” Freedom said. “It’s been around for 30 years. So think about how disrespectful that statement to all the players that have played in the league, in their history.”

The video ends with Pearl and Freedom looking at one another, while a graphic pops up releasing the interview’s release date for Friday at 3:00 p.m. EST.

Freedom’s interview with Pearl comes a week after his controversial claim to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft last Friday.

On Monday, Freedom took his intentions to another level by officially declaring for the 2027 WNBA Draft.

Despite having an 11 year career in the NBA, Freedom is eligible to enter the draft, due to Article XIII, Section 1(a) of the WNBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, as it says, “Only players who are women are eligible to play in the WNBA.”

On Tuesday, Freedom shared a shirtless video of himself working out on his X page at 7:30 a.m., which gathered over 1.5 million views by noon.
