The Miami Dolphins may be saying goodbye to one of their best defensive players for the second-consecutive season. Star safety Jevon Holland's contract is up after this year, as he's set to become the top free agent on the market at his position.

The Dolphins' second round pick in 2021 has emerged as one of their best players on defense, with the potential to become even better. Over four years in Miami, Holland's logged 292 tackles, 24 passes defended, nine tackles for a loss and five tackles. The final two games of the Dolphins' season could also be Holland's last in Miami, as they're only projected to have $4 million in cap space for 2025 and likely won't be able to hand out a large contract to their star safety.

PFF released their top 50 free agents for 2025, with Holland coming in at No.3.

A second-round draft pick out of Oregon in 2021, Holland ranked as one of the five highest-graded safeties in two of his first three seasons in the league. Having earned a 62.7 PFF grade through 12 weeks in 2024, he's currently on track for a career-low mark in that category, but there's a long way to go this season and his body of work previously more than speaks for itself.

They went on to compare Holland to Jessie Bates III of the Atlanta Falcons. Holland is going to get paid one way or another this offseason.
