Fans are finally getting some details about R&B singer Ella Mai and Jayson Tatum's child.
In promotion for her upcoming album, Do You Still Love Me?, the Grammy-winning singer shared that she and Tatum's son is already showing off his skills. According to the singer, he is expressing interest in both singing and basketball.
"You know what, it's giving a little bit of both right now," Mai said told KISS XTRA. "We might have a little singing hooper on our hands."
"He can hold a little note; he is young, but he can hold a little note," she continued.
The "Boo'd Up" songstress and Boston Celtics star began dating rumors around 2019 and 2020. The couple welcomed their son, who's name is reportedly Dylan, last year. Although Mai has been seen out supporting Tatum, such as at the 2024 Summer Olympics when the USA Basketball Team won gold, she was holding the newborn in her arms. However, Mai and Tatum keep their relationship and their son out of the limelight.
"We're gonna keep this completely private, Ima keep my peace, and I don't want anyone wishing negativity on me, or him, or whatever," Mai said.
"There are cameras everywhere, but if you're intentional with the way that you move, it's not that hard to not be seen," she added.
She shared that her artistry was her priority growing up and that she never sought marriage or children.
"Even when it started to happen for me, I never saw past that," she said. "That was my end goal."
Mai continued, "But now, to see this new journey, and to feel this new journey, and kinda have it coincide with what I’m doing now that I’m back at work, it’s incredible."
Her album, Do You Still Love Me? is scheduled to be released on February 6, 2026.
