Eagles' Jalen Hurts 'shouldn't have trouble' reaching Hall of Fame if he does one thing

The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the more polarizing quarterbacks in the NFL in Jalen Hurts. While he's not a prototypical high-volume passer, he's an incredible winner who is also great on the ground and lives up to the big moments.

He's had quite the career, leading the Eagles to two Super Bowls, winning one, in his first six seasons in the league. While 2026 is a big season for Hurts, he's played enough to warrant discussion about his Hall of Fame candidacy.

ESPN's Bill Barnwell shared a projection for Hurts, that he's on track for the Hall of Fame if he keeps up his current pace, and more specifically, if he can return to the playoffs and make a deep run every few years.

"If he continues to play at his existing level and make a deep playoff run every few years, though, Hurts shouldn't have trouble reaching the Hall of Fame," Barnwell writes.

Hurts is a three-time Pro Bowler, Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP, second-team All-Pro, MVP runner-up, and a fantastic playoff quarterback who outplayed Patrick Mahomes in two Super Bowls.

In his six seasons in the NFL, Hurts has only been a starter for five of them. He has a 57-25 record and a 6-4 record in the playoffs in his six-year career.

Hurts has 17,891 passing yards in his career with a 64.4 completion percentage, 110 touchdowns, and 45 interceptions. He's averaging a little over 3,100 passing yards per season, which isn't all that great.

But, as a rusher, Hurts has 3,554 yards in six seasons on 779 attempts with 63 touchdowns during his NFL career. He also has 395 rushing yards and the most rushing touchdowns, 10, of any active NFL player in the playoffs.

Hurts likely will never throw for 4,000 passing yards, unless he completely changes his playstyle. He won't be able to compare passing statistics, though his rushing might be one of the best for a QB all-time when he retires. But the passing numbers are a problem.

And yet, he's a winner who, if he can take the Eagles on deep playoff runs and maybe win another Super Bowl or two, his Hall of Fame candidacy would be very real.
