Bills' Josh Allen prediction from ESPN is good sign for Hall of Fame odds

The Buffalo Bills have been one of the NFL's best teams of the 2020's, as Josh Allen has turned this club from one that barely ended a playoff drought, to one of the top teams in the league.

Of course, they've yet to make the Super Bowl, let alone win one, but there's no denying that the Bills are a top team in the league, and Allen is the main reason why. Allen might be the best QB of the decade.

ESPN's Bill Barnwell is predicting that Allen should be the QB to receive such an honor, and with such an honor in mind, it would be a great sign for his chances of making the Hall of Fame.

"Allen would be the quarterback on the All-Decade first team if it were to be released tomorrow," Barnwell writes. "... Every single All-Decade quarterback is enshrined in the Hall besides Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, who will be first-ballot entrants. Regardless, Allen will join them."

Barnwell is predicting that Allen is a Hall of Fame quarterback already, and that he should also be the first-team All-Decade QB for the 2020s.

He's played in eight NFL seasons, and during that stretch, he has an 88-30 record with a 64.0% completion rate, 30,102 passing yards, 220 touchdowns, 94 interceptions, four Pro Bowls, an MVP, and two second-team All-Pros.

As a rusher, Allen's 60.0% success rate is the best all-time in NFL history, and with 4,721 yards and 79 touchdowns on 871 attempts as a QB, he's one of the best rushing QBs of all-time.

While he might not have the accolades of Lamar Jackson, who is a two-time MVP and multi-time first-team All-Pro, or Patrick Mahomes, who has multiple Super Bowl titles and plenty of individual accolades, Allen has likely done enough.

Even if he doesn't win the honor of being the 2020s All-Decade first-team QB, Allen's resume up through the 2025 season is probably good enough to warrant serious Hall of Fame consideration.

If he plays a little while longer, adding more accolades, counting statistics, and maybe another MVP or a Super Bowl, there's no denying that he's not just a Hall of Famer, but a first-ballot Hall of Famer who likely deserves to be in the inner circle of QBs.

For now, Barnwell is already projecting Allen as being "in" the Hall of Fame, and not "on the cusp" or in the "keep it up" territory. It might be a little too early, but Allen surely is already in, if not on the doorstep of the Hall of Fame, if he retired today.
