The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-0, but they've accomplished that feat without a fully functioning offense. The run game has been a big issue, and the concerns only grew after Week 2.
Not only because they continued to struggle to run the ball, but also because Saquon Barkley went down with an injury and didn't play most of the game due to a stinger. His status for Week 3 against the Chicago Bears was in question.
But according to Jeff McLane of The Inquirer, the Eagles got some great news on Barkley, as the superstar RB is expected to play on Monday Night Football in Chicago.
Eagles get good news on Saquon Barkley amid injury concern
"Saquon Barkley (stinger) is out here at practice suited up," McLane reports. "We'll see how much the Eagles RB participates when the injury report is released later today. But I was told he expects to play Monday vs. the Bears."
Barkley didn't play much in Week 2 as he dealt with a stinger in Week 2, which he sustained on the first drive of the game.
The three-time Pro Bowler, one-time All-Pro and 2,000-yard rusher from the 2024 Super Bowl-winning season, was questionable for Week 3.
While he's still up in the air for the third Week of the season, this report from McLane indicates Barkley is trending in the right direction.

At the very least, Barkley expects to play in Week 3. If something comes up during practice and he can't go, Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley will be the primary ball-carriers, with Dameon Pierce potentially being activated off the practice squad.
The Bears' defense is weak against the run, so having Barkley good to go would be a huge boost for the team. He has just 92 yards on 19 rushing attempts this season, with only two first downs and no touchdowns.
A get-right game against a weak Bears defense would really help this Eagles offense take the next step to prove they don't have to rely on Jalen Hurts being a hero every game.
Fortunately, things are pointing towards Barkley being good to go for Monday night's matchup against the 1-1 Bears, who might be without Caleb Williams and backup quarterback Tyson Bagent.
