Cooper DeJean might be making a move, sort of.
The Philadelphia Eagles played DeJean officially as a cornerback more often than not in his rookie season en route to a Super Bowl victory.
Now, DeJean might spend more time at safety.
It's not actually as big a deal as it sounds, though.
The Eagles don't spend a ton of time in their base defense, in which these positional designations are usually drawn from.
DeJean occasionally roamed as a rookie all over the defensive backfield.
“We’d like to keep him at nickel, and then in our base package we’ll find a spot for him, either at corner or safety,” Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio told reporters. “A lot of it will end up depending on how the other guys develop and where we most need him. It will be determined by what’s best for him and what’s best for the team — and what’s best for the team will win out in that decision. But he’s capable of playing corner and he’s capable of playing safety.”

DeJean was a Super Bowl hero with a pick-six. He was everything the Eagles could've hoped for as a rookie out of Iowa.
Now, he'll have a chance to make his mark at a different spot, but one that'll allow him to shine just as bright.
“I think he would play very well at safety," Fangio said. "I think it suits his skill set, things that he does well. I just think he would do very well in there."
