While the tanking Nets were losing to the visiting Celtics, two of the prospects they’re tanking for were on the other side of the East River at the Garden.
Can’t-miss prospects Cameron Boozer and Darryn Peterson will be a lottery pick away from joining the Nets. But Tuesday they were five miles away, with Boozer’s Duke team taking on Peterson’s Kansas squad at the Champions Classic.
It was supposed to be a teaser of just what the Nets are hoping to land with their 2026 lottery pick they’re tanking so hard for this season. Peterson missing the game with a hamstring injury was a reminder of just how uncertain fate is. But what’s sure is the Nets are intent on maximizing their pick to draft a star.
They should be so lucky as to land one of these two.
