Catalog investment firm Duetti has opened a new Music City office, located in Nashville’s Music Row area at 1604 16th Ave. S, Billboard can reveal.
The move brings the company’s A&R, publishing and marketing teams under one roof to deepen the company’s partnerships with Nashville-based writers and artists, in order to serve Nashville’s music community, spanning genres including country, Americana, pop, R&B, Gospel, hip-hop and more.
Duetti already works with Nashville-based artists and writers including Spencer Crandall, Parson James, Molly Grace, Dave Fenley, Jessie Villa, and Ryder Johnson, and has partnered with more than 50 Nashville artists and songwriters to date. Approximately 30% of those deals have been country music writers and/or artists, 29% being in the pop genre and 12% each in the folk/Americana and rap spaces.
“We are a four-year-old company and growing very fast,” Duetti CEO Lior Tibon told Billboard. “We’re going to pretty soon be at 100 full-time employees worldwide and we keep increasing the platform. So we are always thinking where we should expand our footprint. We are following where we see a lot of interest and activity. Since we started, we’ve done deals with over 50 artists and songwriters that are based in Nashville. It’s just a very clear indication that there is a lot of activity and the market here is very receptive to the concept that Duetti is leading.”
Duetti, which was founded in 2022 by Tibon and COO Christopher Nolte, partners with indie artists and songwriters to buy, manage and market their catalogs and offers marketing, publishing and A&R support. The company allows artists to monetize a portion of their music rights, while retaining a working partner for creative and marketing.
“Before we came into operation, I would say any catalog that is younger than the five-to-seven year mark was considered almost non-financeable at the time, because there were all these restrictions by the banks and other providers,” Tibon said. “We said there’s really no reason for that, and with all the data and information that’s out there, we can definitely go earlier on. Back in June, we announced even taking the threshold lower on the master side, to just six months for us to at least start engaging and thinking about what a deal could look like. It’s not for everyone, but I think especially for younger creators or artists earlier in their career, that’s particularly relevant as just another option.”
Since launching, the company has partnered with over 1,100 creators. Beyond catalog investments, Duetti has earned over 5 million playlist followers spanning its user-generated playlist network on Spotify, and has secured sync placements on Netflix, Showtime, SEGA, Apple TV+ and more. They worked with artist Fenley to also offer marketing support for his new album (which is outside of his deal with Duetti), including offering a TikTok campaign and a Spotify Marquee campaign.
Fenley said in a statement, “In this industry you encounter so many companies that are simply transactional. Duetti has proven to be anything but that. They’ve invested in my career, celebrated my wins, and have given me a peace of mind that’s very hard to find in the music business.”
Duetti also celebrated the opening of the new Nashville office with a launch dinner for artists, managers and other industry friends at Geist.
