Amy Winehouse ‘Back to Black’ 20th Anniversary Edition to Feature Unreleased Demos, Rare B-Sides, Full 2007 Concert

An upcoming 20th anniversary edition of Amy Winehouse‘s landmark 2006 Grammy-winning breakthrough album, Back to Black, will be packed with extras sure to delight fans of the late “Tears Dry on Their Own” singer.

According to a listing on Winehouse’s official site, the 3CD version of Back to Black 20, which is due out on Oct. 23, will feature the original studio album, as well as four previously unreleased demos, rare B-sides, demos and bonus track, as well as, for the first time, the full live performance from Winehouse’s show at Paradiso in Amsterdam on Feb. 8, 2007.

The anniversary edition will feature new alternative cover art, including Winehouse’s handwritten lyrics and never-before-seen photos by original album photographers Mischa Richter and Alex Lake. The package will also include new liner notes from producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi.

In addition to the 2008 Grammy record and song of the year winner “Rehab,” the original album features such classics as the Motown-influenced “You Know I’m No Good,” the love lament “Me and Mr. Jones,” the somber title track and “Love Is a Losing Game,” among others.

The second disc collects a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge cover of the Zutons’ “Valerie” that became one of Winehouse’s signature songs, as well as her collab with Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah on a version of “I’m No Good (You Know I’m No Good),” and original demos of “F–kery (Me & Mr. Jones),” “Back to Black” and “Love is a Losing Game.” Among the alternate demos on the set are ones of “Rehab,” “I’ve Been Drinkin’ (Just Friends),” “Tears Dry” and a down-tempo version of “Some Unholy War.”

The 14-track live Paradiso set includes some of Winehouse’s most beloved hits, as well as “Addicted,” “Cherry,” a medley of “He Can Only Hold Her” and Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing),” “I Heard Love Is Blind” and “Wake Up Alone”. A 3LP deluxe clear vinyl edition will feature the same tracks, with additional vinyl variants in Chalkboard Marble and a webstore-exclusive Zeotrope picture disc.

Winehouse, who struggled with substance use during her lifetime, died on July 23, 2011 of alcohol poisoning without completing a follow-up to the five-time Grammy winning Back to Black.
