"Absolute dagger. Luckily the Bears will still lose," one fan commented. "Bears easy Mickey Mouse schedule continues !!!" a fan tweeted. "Not letting him play against the bears is criminal," another fan commented.Rodgers was injured late in the first half of the win over Cincinnati when he was hit while rolling to his right near the goal line. He braced his fall with his left hand. Rodgers briefly attempted to continue before heading to the locker room and stayed sidelined after halftime.
He spent the latter part of the week participating in limited practices while wearing additional protection on his wrist, lobbying to suit up against Chicago. Rodgers pushed for a green light, but the Steelers determined that the short recovery window made the risk high, according to Rapoport. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Rodgers worked tirelessly; however, resting him was the sensible move.
The quarterback has built a dominant record at Soldier Field during his years with Green Bay. Sunday would have marked his first appearance there since departing the Packers.
