Minnesota Golden Gophers quarterback Drake Lindsey was arrested early Friday morning, according to TwinCities.com's Andy Greder.
The arrest occurred shortly after midnight in his hometown of Fayetteville, Ark. Lindsey was arrested for possession of a fake ID and possession of alcohol. The quarterback had received the starting position last season for Minnesota.

Drake Lindsey arrest details
On Friday, a report surfaced that Lindsey was arrested in Arkansas for underage possession of alcohol and possession of a fake ID, according to ESPN.
After attempting to get into the Yeehawg bar in Fayetteville, Ark., police were notified by bar staff about a possible fake ID being used. The bar staff brought a police officer to Lindsey, who is currently 20 years old. The Minnesota QB did admit to using a form of fake identification and consuming alcohol before arriving at Yeehawg.
Lindsey was booked at 1:13 a.m. on Friday for misdemeanor offenses of “minor in possession of alcohol” and “possession of a fraudulent identification,” according to the police report. He was released on $470 bond at 8:28 a.m. that morning.
"We are aware of the situation and will address it internally," a Minnesota spokesman said in a statement to ESPN.
