During one possession, the ball was with Speed and had an open shot. Durant urged him to shoot the ball, but the internet personality missed.

After Speed missed the shot, Durant removed his shoes and left the game.

“It was fun playing with y'all,” Durant said. “Y’all have a good time, it was fun playing, that layup I just can’t do it..next show, I got you.”

After the clip of the two-time NBA champion walking out on Speed went viral, his close friend said that he had the same experience. Drake, the rapper, commented on Instagram about how Durant walked out on him during a pickup game, similar to how he did with the internet star.

“KD walked off on me just like this at UCLA and asked me to never invite him to a run again after he hit 4 threes in a row to end the game in another NBA player’s face,” the rapper commented.

Durant said that the influencer needs to work on his basketball skills. The Rockets star even impressed Speed with his shooting. During a shootaround, the veteran star was locked in and effortlessly drained three shots from deep in a row. After the third shot, the live streamer wondered how Kevin Durant wasn't missing.

Speed claims that he can beat Kevin Durant one-on-one

Kevin Durant is one of the best scorers in the league. At 6-foot-11, he's unguardable, especially since he moves like a guard. In a one-on-one setting, Durant is a problem, even to most NBA players.

However, Speed has the confidence that he can take on KD head-on. The influencer boasted that he could defeat the Rockets player when he made a special appearance at Shannon Sharpe's "Club Shay Shay" in 2024.

According to the social media star, he can take on Durant if they play full court. Speed said that he can use his quickness to get past the star forward. Although he admitted that KD would win if they played half-court.

“Listen, I could beat KD if it’s a full-court 1v1 because of my speed. But half court, yeah he got it, but if it’s a full court 1v1 and I’m running, yeah, he won’t,” Speed said. (Timestamp: 1:01:01)
