Garrett Wilson will indeed be out for a while, and fans know who their scapegoat shall be.
On Thursday, just hours before their game at the New England Patriots, the New York Jets were announced to have placed their leading receiver on injured reserve because of a knee injury - the first time in his career that it has happened. He will not need surgery, but he is expected to miss at least four games:
Jets placed WR Garrett Wilson on injured reserve, and he now will be out a minimum of four games.

As soon as the news dropped, there was much ire towards head coach Aaron Glenn:

@AdamSchefter So @RichCimini did have the answers! Make him GM!
@AdamSchefter Someone needs to ask Aaron Glenn if he’s going to apologize to Rich now that Garrett Wilson is now officially on IR…I mean, Aaron had a lot to say about Rich during the press conference the other day.
@AdamSchefter Looks like Aaron Glenn owes @RichCimini an apology
@AdamSchefter Wow. Aaron Glenn’s comments look dumber each day
@AdamSchefter Guess that reporter was right
@AdamSchefter Aaron Glen might be the worst coach in the NFL
Glenn had begun a press conference on Tuesday by announcing that he would skip injury reports, instead asking that reporters defer to ESPN's Rich Cimini, who had been the first to reveal Wilson's future status. When one of them decided to ask about it anyway, he lost his cool:
“Ask Rich... Well I’m telling you to ask Rich... Well you better call him... You guys have been hearing it from me… but now since we are just reporting stuff that I haven’t said then maybe you should ask him.”Wilson currently has 36 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns this season.
How Garrett Wilson's injury will affect Jets' WR depth
Losing Garrett Wilson could be a significant blow for the Jets, as none of their other wideouts have proven to be capable of replicating the output that he has managed to produce in his career.
While Breece Hall and Mason Taylor are expected to carry most of the offensive load during this stretch, The Sporting News' Dan Treacy has significant expectations for some of those other pass-catchers:
It starts with Tyler Johnson:
"With Josh Reynolds on injured reserve, Tyler Johnson has had to step up as a key complement to Wilson and is in line for a larger role."Next is Adonai Mitchell, a potential "wild card" whom the Jets acquired in the trade that sent Sauce Gardner to Indianapolis:
"Mitchell struggled to gain the full trust of the Colts' offensive staff — his biggest play of this season ended in an embarrassing fumble through the end zone on what should have been a touchdown — so it will be up to the Jets to get Mitchell in the film room and committed to making the most of his potential."And finally, there is Allen Lazard, a holdover from the "New York Packers" regime who has been struggling to get snaps, even despite an injury deluge to the corps, and may continue to do so.
