As the curtain draws on UFC 322, Islam Makhachev is the new welterweight champion. But, getting a second title doesn't seem to have quelled the Dagestani's thirst for combat. He now wants U.S. President Donald Trump to get him on the upcoming UFC White House card.
Earlier tonight at Madison Square Garden, the 34-year-old utilized his unparalleled wrestling skills to neutralize Jack Della Maddalena's striking threat.
Largely on the defensive, wary of the take downs, the Australian also struggled on the feet, with Makhachev doing considerable damage with leg kicks, severely limiting the former welterweight champion's movement midway through the fight.
When the final bell rang, Khabib Nurmagomedov's protege walked away with a unanimous decision win, scoring 50-45 across the judges' score cards.

With the win, Makhachev has become the 11th two-division champion in UFC history. He has now also tied Anderson Silva for the longest win streak in the promotion with 16 straight wins.
During his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, when the sports caster asked him when he wanted to return for his first title defense, it took the sambo maestro no time to respond:
"Donald Trump, let's go. Open the White House, I'm coming."Check out Islam Makhachev calling for a spot on UFC White House below:
UFC White House is scheduled for Sunday, 14 June 2026, with roughly 5,000 attending the event live from the lawn of the presidential residence, with an additional 85,000 viewing the fights from a watch party in a nearby park.
MMA elites, including former two-division champions Jon Jones and Conor McGregor, have called for a spot on the historic event. Dana White, however, has confirmed that he would start building the card only by February.
