Coi Leray has dismissed claims that Cardi B dissed her on the song, Pretty & Petty, from her album, Am I the Drama?. She said that she interacts with Cardi often and respects her as an artist.

Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, released her sophomore album, Am I the Drama?, on September 19. In the track, Pretty & Petty, she dissed BIA. Among the many things she said about BIA, the rapper also name-dropped Coi Leray, rapping:

"They only hit you [BIA] when they can't afford Coi."

Leray appeared on the latest episode of The Bootleg Kev Podcast, published on Tuesday, October 28. On it, she was asked about the name drop on Pretty & Petty, and she answered:

"Yo, I love Cardi. I think Cardi is amazing. I respect Cardi all the time."

The host said that the lyrics didn't appear to be a diss towards Coi Leray, and she agreed, saying:

"I don't think it was a diss. I mean, I don't got nothing to do with anything else, but as far as me, you know, I don't think it was a diss at all. I f*ck with Cardi. Me and Cardi, we got each other real information. Like, we speak offline, we real people before we industry."

When asked if she interacts with Cardi at times, Leray added:

"I hit her all the time. I'll hit her and be like, ‘Love you.’ Or sometimes like when I'm moving to Jersey, I'm like, ‘Yo, I need a realtor. You got a realtor for me?’”

After the release of the song, some reports online claimed that Coi Leray was displeased with her name being dropped in Pretty & Petty. One Instagram account with the handle, @peridotloaded, falsely quoted her as saying (via Complex):

“I just hate my name being mentioned, I’m way bigger than Bia so I didn’t quite understand that comparison. She should have compared her with someone else.”

Leray debunked this report, commenting on the post:

"I never said anything about anything. They literally made this sh*t up. Get a life!! Cardi whole album fire."

She also posted a screenshot of her message with Cardi B, supporting each other, on her Instagram story.

Cardi B opens up on whether she will diss BIA again

Following Pretty & Petty, BIA (full name Bianca Miquela Landrau), released her debut album, Bianca, on October 10. She refused to diss Cardi B in it. However, he album failed to chart on the Billboard 200.

During a recent X Space, Cardi said that she doesn't plan on taking digs at BIA's album sales, saying (h/t Billboard):

“I don’t pick on b**ches. I don’t wake up every single day like, ‘I’mma pick on this girl ‘cause I can. I just found out BIA’s numbers yesterday. I’m not going to pick on her ‘cause of that sh*t. Then that’s overkill.”

The two artists have been beefing since 2024, when some fans felt that Cardi appeared to copy BIA's flow.
