Veteran quarterback Russell Wilson's New York Giants stint has not been what he would've expected when he signed for the team at the start of the year in March.
Wilson, who lost the starting role to rookie Jaxson Dart earlier this season, relieved the rookie on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. However, Wilson failed to impress in his relief outing. His performance earned him a "Mr. Limited" jab from NFL insider Scott Van Pelt.
Van Pelt's jab was a reference to Wilson's self-proclaimed nickname of “Mr. Unlimited” in 2018. However, the NFL insider apologized for his remarks on his podcast after facing backlash on social media.

The NFL insider said he was surprised by the support Wilson received on social media despite his declining numbers over the last few seasons.
“But it was fascinating to find out there is a Russell hive out there that came for my head and told me I was a bald b*tch,” Van Pelt said. "I don’t know how that works, but it was fascinating to find out that there were folks that were ready to come for my head as if the last four years of Russell Wilson is all a made-up thing…sending out that tweet, that’s just small and dumb, and I don’t aspire to do small dumb things.”Russell Wilson accepts backup role for Giants' game against Packers
With Jaxson Dart out of Sunday's game due to a concussion issue, Jameis Winston has been named the starter against the Green Bay Packers. Despite being the backup to Winston for the Week 11 clash, Russell Wilson is ready for the role.
"Obviously, I want to play, but Jameis has worked his butt off, so this is a great opportunity for him,’’ Wilson said. “The guy’s played in this league for a long time, and he’s one of my closest friends. He can spin the rock. He’s a great leader for us. I know he’ll do a great job. “I’m going to help him prepare the best way possible. We have great dialogue. And I’ll be ready to go [as the backup].’’Sunday's game against the Packers will be the first time the Giants will be without Brian Daboll, who was fired on Monday, in more than three seasons.
